Toyota Innova facelift spotted in Indonesia

The Toyota Innova has been selling in India for more than 7 years now, and the company wants to keep the car competitive for some more years. The Innova received a mild facelift in 2012, and Toyota is set to give it another facelift soon. We can see what the new facelift MUV will look like because Toyota has launched the same in Indonesia, where the car is sold as the Toyota Kijang Innova.

So what’s new? Well, the Toyota Inniva facelift gets a host of additions in terms of features and the design has been mildly tweaked inside out. But Toyota has not made changes to the car in terms of engine, transmission or any other machanicals. The new Innova is expected to cost about Rs. 25,000 more per variant when it is launched in India early 2014.

The Toyota Innova is the largest selling MPV in India and continues to top the sales charts even after 8 years of its existence. Over the years, Toyota has been upgrading and improving the package but underneath the Innova has remained the same brilliant handling, comfortable MPV. No wonder then it’s still the most revered people carrier. The latest avataar of the Innova was released during the 2012 Auto Expo and now there’s another one.

This time, a brand new Toyota Innova facelift has been spotted in Indonesia. South-East Asia being a huge market for such cars, the Innova would go on sale there before it comes to India. The new car gets a larger grille and lots of chrome. Towards the rear, a new chrome garnish has been added with integrated reflectors. The new Innova also gets a subtle body kit further improving its aesthetic appeal.

The company has not commented on the new car’s engine specs. It will be only after the launch of the car that they will reveal about the new powertrain. It is expected that the company will launch new Toyota Innova, in India, by early next year. It is also possible that the car will unveiled at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo.
