Lamborghini Aventador spontaneously combusts on the Autobahn

An orange example of the Lamborghini Aventador has recently met its end on the German Autobahn after it “decided” to burst into flames.

An engine swap should have made this Lamborghini Aventador a better car but unfortunately it has brought it to its end. According to the guys from Wrecked Exotics, the Italian supercar in question has received a new engine which wasn’t so good. The unit has quickly overheated and eventually caught fire, completely destroying the 6-figure supercar by the time the firefighters got to the scene. The incident took place on the Autobahn, in Germany, and hopefully the vehicle was insured.

We’re not sure what happened to the driver but judging by the images posted below, he probably managed to get away from the fireball in time to save his life. If you have more details on the subject, please feel free to share. The Lamborghini Aventador has replaced the Murcielago back in 2011. The model is continuing the tradition of large naturally aspirated V12 engines with its 6.5 liter unit which is providing 690 HP (510 kW) and 690 Nm (510 lb-ft) of torque. The 0 to 100 km/h acceleration takes just 3 seconds and the top speed stands at 350 km/h (217 mph).
