JAGUAR PROJECT-7

The Project 7 is a special, one-off design study based on the Jaguar F-Type. The car is a single seater built with a lot of weight saving measures factored in. The body shell is fabricated entirely out of aluminium, components that help in increasing the car’s aerodynamic efficiency are made out of carbon fibre and to propel this beautiful piece of British engineering all the way to a top speed of 300 kph is Jaguar’s 5.0 litre, supercharged V8 petrol engine that belts out 542 bhp. With so many horses under the bonnet, the 100 kph dash is dealt with in just 4.2 seconds.

The Project 7 was designed by a team led by Jaguar’s Director of Design, Ian Callum and made its first ever debut at the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK. This car was designed purely with speed in mind as evident from the front splitter to erase understeer, side skirts and a rear diffuser to increase downforce, a lowered windshield to reduce drag and a fairing similar to one seen on an F1 car behind the driver’s seat.

SPECIFICATIONS: 5.0 litre supercharged V8 petrol engine | 8 cyl | 550PS | 680Nm | 8-speed quickshift transmission | 0-100kmph in 4.2 seconds | top speed of 300kmph | Single-seater | all-aluminium body roadster |
