Force Motors Launch New SUV 'Gurkha'

 Force Motors launched the Gurkha SUV at the International Bus and Utility Show 2013 being held at the India Expo Mart, Greater Noida. Force claims the Gurkha  the world’s first E.O.V (Extreme Offroader Vehicle) 4x4x4 and has launched the SUV in 3 variants: 4×2 soft top, 4×4 soft top and 4×4 hard top.

The Gurkha is powered by the 2.6 litre Mercedes OM 616 derived turbo charged intercooled engine. This proven engine produces 82 Ps @ 3200 rpm, has a torque of 230 Nm @ 1800-2000 rpm, and is mated to a 5 speed synchromesh transmission with Hi – Lo option on transfer case. This combined with the Differential Locks on both front and rear axles, makes it capable of extreme off-roading.

The engine is only BS3 compliant and the BS4 will be launched in the future. (No Specific time frame of the BS4 launch mentioned)

 
With 210 ground clearance and reinforced tubular chassis the Gurkha can easily travel any terrain. The improved independent front suspension with a solid torsion bar has been further fine tuned to enhance the riding comfort; essential for an enhanced off-road experience. A newly designed engine compartment ensures low NVH and better serviceability.

Unlike the spy shots, the Gurkha sports different styling, which may not accepted by many off-road lovers. The Gurkha is based on the lines of the legendary Mercedes Gelandewagen (G –Wagon) and the high width tubeless off road tyres and trendy alloy wheels add to its style quotient. It will be available in 3 attractive colours with distinct and attractive graphics.

BMW Launches facelifted X1 In India, starts at Rs. 27.90 lakhs

BMW launched the facelifted X1 Sports Activity Vehicle in the Indian market. The X1 gets comprehensive makeover on the outside and inside. For the first time the X1 is available in two distinct lines: the xLine and the Sport Line.

The X1 is available only in the diesel variant unlike the previous model which was offered in both petrol & diesel engine options. The TwinPower Turbo diesel engine develops an output of 135 kW/184 hp, produces maximum torque of 380 Nm, and accelerates from 0 – 100 km/hr in 7.9 seconds with the ability to achieve a top speed of 205 km/hr. The engine is mated to a new eight-speed automatic transmission. The driving comfort is further enhanced, thanks to Electric Power Steering with Servotronic technology.

BMW X1 features Auto Start-Stop, ECO PRO mode, Brake-Energy Regeneration, Intelligent Lightweight Construction and many other innovative technologies.

The SAV gets a more dynamic and sportier look with a new front apron; LED headlights; bumpers in body colour and side indicators integrated into the exterior mirrors.

The cockpit is angled towards the driver and puts all the important controls within easy reach to provide a sense of personal control and comfort. The rear seats can be folded down in 40: 20: 40 configurations to increase the luggage capacity. Seats are electrically adjustable on both the driver and front seat passenger sides.

The standard Sensatec leather upholstery is available in Black and Beige colour combinations. Interior trims offered are Fine-wood trim Fineline Bay Matt, Interior trim finishers in Fine Brushed Aluminium and Satin Silver Matt. The SAV is available in the following seven in metallic paintworks: Black Sapphire, Deep Sea Blue, Glacier Silver, Marrakesh Brown, Midnight Blue, Valencia Orange and Mineral White.

The X1 is assembled in a CKD – Completely Knocked Down form at BMW Plant in Chennai.

BMW launched at an exclusive driving event at a specially designed off-road track in Gurgaon. The BMW X1 Drive Experience is being organized for BMW customers and prospects from 14 – 17 February 2013 on the off-road track and a scenic city route to showcase the versatility of the new BMW X1.
