Maruti Swift Platinum Edition introduced by kalyani dealership. Costs INR 1.46 lakhs extra

This particular Maruti dealer in South India has modified the Swift, calling it the Platinum Edition. Unlike the Porsche Cayenne Platinum Edition, the Swift Platinum Edition has not been announced by the carmaker, and it is a complete dealer-level spin off.

A silver grille, LED daytime running lights, projector headlights and a full body kit are the major talking points of this edition.

The grille and airdam which come in a black plastic on a regular Swift, are painted in silver for this edition. The headlamp and taillamp clusters are completely customized, offering LED daytime running lights, blackened lenses, what seems like projector headlights and the brake lights seem to use LEDs as well.

The dealer has fitted the Swift with front and rear bumper spoilers, side skirts and a roof-mounted spoiler, while the roof gets a black color (a black wrap) contrasting the white body. Side body decals with the ‘Swift’ logo and grey alloy wheels complete the exterior package.

The dealer says that this customization pack is available on all variants of the car, be it petrol or diesel, though preferably, the owner should pick the white body color.

The cost? Add an extra INR 1,45,950 to the on-road price of the Swift, says the dealer.

Lamborghini world premieres Veneno Roadster on an aircraft carrier

The world premiere of the Lamborghini Veneno Roadster took placed on December 1 in the city of Abu Dhabi. While Lambo could have simply chosen a 7-star hotel built on an exotic man-made island, the Italian supercar maker debuted the Veneno Roadster on board Italian naval aircraft carrier ‘Nave Cavour’.

"The Veneno Roadster will be limited to nine units, each costing 3.3 million euros."

Based on the Veneno which premiered at this year’s Geneva Motor Show in March, the Roadster will not get even an attachable roof, and only a rollover bar will be available. The engine is the same 6.5-liter V12 which powers the Aventador, but retuned to produce 750 hp in the Veneno. 0-100 km/h takes 2.9 seconds, while the top-speed stands at 355 km/h.
Though the Veneno is based on the Aventador, Lamborghini engineers used a large percentage of carbon fiber to bring down the dry weight to a mere 1,490 kg.

Lambo will build only 9 units of the Veneno Roadster, and according to the company, all the units will be built in 2014. For the Veneno Roadster, Lamborghini will charge 3.3 million euros (INR 27.87 crores) excluding taxes. Customers can choose any color of their fancy.
