Honda announces the name of Brio Sedan Model as “AMAZE”

Asian Honda Motor unveiled the name of an all-new entry sedan type model that utilizes the platform of Brio, Honda’s strategic model for Asia. The New Entry Sedan will be called the “AMAZE,” and will be launched in Thailand and India.

The details of the model will be announced later this month (November 23, 2012) in Thailand, and next financial year 2013 – 14 in India. Honda plans to introduce this model to accommodate the diversifying needs of customers in automobile markets in Asia where competition is intensifying.

The model will be equipped with a petrol engine in Thailand. In India, the Honda Amaze will be available with a petrol engine and a newly-developed diesel engine and will be positioned in the entry level sedan segment for the Indian market. These models will be introduced to the market at affordable prices realized by increasing cost competitiveness through local sourcing and production.

The name “Amaze” is intrinsically linked to the Product Development Concept of this new model after extensive study of the diverse needs of customers. Every aspect of the new entry sedan seeks to amaze the customer by offering divergent and desirable values to expand customer delight beyond expectations.

The contemporary style of “Amaze” will entice customers with its amazingly spacious interior yet compact exteriors, which was designed while further advancing the Honda M/M (man maximum, machine minimum) concept*1 (the basic approach to Honda’s “human-centered” car design calling for maximizing the space available for people and minimizing the space required for mechanical components). The car offers amazing power delivery yet with class leading fuel efficiency, while sustaining core Honda values to appeal to the growing base of middle class customers aspiring to own a Honda Sedan.

Honda developed Brio exclusively for Asian markets, and introduced it in Thailand and India in 2011, and in Indonesia in 2012, offering a compact car designed for the entry-car market which is growing in Asia. The all-new Honda Amaze will represent yet another model that realizes styling design that draws attention, as well as a spacious cabin within a compact body size that makes this vehicle easy to use even in urban areas.

The Amaze will give the Maruti Suzuki Dzire some serious competition. Other manufactures like Tata, Toyota and Mahindra will also have to worry as the Amaze sedan will give the customers a complete value for money package.

Yobosayo ssangyong - rexton coming to India

Mahindra has confirmed the debut of the Ssangyong brand in India on the 17th of October.

This is the same day Tata Motors will launch the Safari Storme on, so its game on!

The Ssangyong Rexton will be the torch bearer, positioned just above the XUV500. The national launch of this Fortuner-rivaling SUV will be held in Mumbai on 17th October, followed by regional launches in New Delhi and Bangalore, and subsequently by other markets. The company embraced the same strategy during the launch of the XUV500.

The Rexton was brought to the Delhi Auto Expo this year, but the model launching in India (remains unverified) is the facelifted edition launched in Korea in May. The show car was powered by a 2.7-liter diesel engine, but since then, changes have appeared to its mechanical package through the introduction of an all-new 2-liter diesel that makes 154bhp/367Nm leading to some questions.

A bi-turbo version of this engine with 200bhp/500Nm outputs is undergoing development.

Nissan developing an electric version of the Evalia for Europe

Banking on the huge success of the NV200, Nissan is taking its globally popular van to the next level. Nissan is reportedly developing an EV version of the Evalia (also branded NV200) for European countries.

Nissan has already developed e-NV200 panel van which is expected to be the future of delivery vans all across globe.

The e-NV200 panel van combines the technology of the Nissan Leaf with the functionality of the NV200 van. This all-electric compact van delivers the same performance on a single charge as the Nissan Leaf. Currently, FedEX is testing the e-NV200 panel van as their future mobility vehicle.

However, the e-NV200 panel van is still a commercial vehicle at the end of the day. It cannot please families with its commercial-minded design. Thus, Nissan will implement the Nissan Leaf technology in the sever seater version of NV200, popularly known as the Evalia.

New Maruti Suzuki "Alto 800"

The Maruti’s next generation Alto 800, which will replace the legendary 800 and Alto has been spied again, now without any camouflage. This means the launch is around the corner, probably by Diwali.

The Alto has been Maruti's largest selling car and while it's seen a few changes here and there over the years, the Alto 800 is the most comprehensive upgrade yet

EXTERIOR
The Alto 800 looks more or less like a completely new car. You'll see some design cues from the outgoing car in the profile, if you squint a little, but other than that, the aeging lines now make way for much more modern curves. From the side, the car is a whole 100mm shorter than the outgoing model, but the wheelbase remains the same, so you won't feel the pinch in the passenger compartment. In fact, the other dimensions remain the same but height has been increased to give the passengers more head room as well.

New headlapms and tail lights are pretty much expected, and along with those, you also get new bumper and grille designs as well, to give it that new car feel. In this process. The rear of the car ends up looking very similar to the A-Star
The somewhat plain Jane looks of the older car are now replaced with character lines and creases accenting the sies. The 796cc engine may not make supercar levels of power, but the hood still has a power bulge to give it some visual bulk. So, overall, it's a nice looking car that will certainly turn heads the first few times on the road. Proportionally, it looks a little under-tyred, but that's more of an aesthetics thing rather than a safety issue, so you don't have to worry about it as it comes standard with 12-inch tubeless tyres.

What is more interesting is the SRS airbag in the new Alto 800. Maruti is planning to price the car under Rs. 2 lakh and with a car with airbag at such price will certainly cause flutter in the market. Of course the airbag fitted car will be price on the higher side as it is likely to come in the top end variant. Even then if the top end Maruti Alto 800 is priced at Rs. 3 lakh, it will be first car in its class to have airbags.

    Engine: 796 cc petrol engine

    Fuel economy: 22.7 kmpl

Variant: Six – three CNG and three Petrol

Mileage: Petrol variant – 23 kilometre per litre, CNG variant – 31 kilometre per litre

INTERIORS: Fashionable and trendy, the car with stylish headlamps, better headroom and legroom.

    Interior: Dual tone upholstery

    Rear leg space: 15mm

    Headroom: 15mm
